The Pesto Festo, is an open farm culinary event that celebrates basil, the abundant harvest and honors the Italian heritage of the Concord Grape Belt region. The gardens are planted with basil, garlic and parsley, the basic ingredients of basil pesto, and when harvested, pesto is created in the Barlow’s Mill kitchen. The Pesto Festo is a one day celebration of pesto, not only the basil pesto made at Barlow’s Mill, but a variety of pestos made by local restaurants for sampling. There are wagon-ride vineyard tours, walking garden tours, live music, wine tasting, children’s activities and handcrafted products by regional artisans. | |
